Why was my topic removed?
« on: August 27, 2006, 12:21:05 pm »
I wrote a topic last night - about 4am - took about 30 mins to write. This morning it has been deleted. It was informative and did not infringe any board rules, does anyone know where it went and why?

Jason

your post was very interesting but on here you do need to be as iwould say liberal.

some peoples comments after your post where close to the mark, thats the only reason I can see why your post was removed.

Its Britain today, people are unable to say what they want because they are accused of being racist if it does not go with the countries damaging liberal views.

Just my thoughts

neil

Hi Jason

I removed it because although it seemed a reasonable and informative post, it triggered a number of replies that were clearly racist.

I'm sorry that the post took so long to write and has consequently been wasted but these types of topics are difficult, if not impossible, to moderate. In future, all religious topics will also be removed.

Sorry!

Mike

oh Dear...where did "free Britain" go...and freedom of expression go?   I wonder when the black font will disapear from all forums, incase it upsets someone...or indeed the white page background...No disrespect mike, but , I for one have had enough state nannying, in the form of baa baa green sheep, and chalk board etc...I Think ill move to greenland ;)   Im sure nobody on here deliberatly expresses any racist or religious views, but where will it all stop.....I used the word "pu ssy" on here one day...referring to a feline 4 legged creature...and.... you guessed it...gggeee whiz....give me strength....does that offend dog owners?

Generally, I agree that all this political correctness is over the top. However, whether people express it intentionally or not, racism is racism and this forum isn't really the place to discuss it.

Mike, is it not possible to just remove the offensive replies?
If someone takes as much trouble as jasonc obviously did and it was a good post surely it should be allowed to stay?

Regards Rob.

Hi Jason

I removed it because although it seemed a reasonable and informative post, it triggered a number of replies that were clearly racist.

That's fair enough, but I cannot be responsible for other peoples actions. The sole reason I made the post was because I had read about fellow cleaners struggling to find work and if I hadn't gone along the path that I did I would most likely be in the same boat, but as it is I have a fairly steady income. Anway I'll make sure that my posts are 100% aryan related from now on :)

Actually, I started by removing the offending posts because Jason had obviously spent so much time writing it, but then other people were using quotes from them and the replies weren't making sense. In the end it would have taken too much time and it would just have got out of control again.

Regards

Mike

As I  am of mixed race, I SEE RACISM FROM ALL CORNERS AND FAR TOO MANY PEOPLE BEING FAR TOO SENSITIVE, Ido think deleting the entire thread was ott.... often white british people take cultural differences as awkwardness or difficult to work with..... and vice versa with blacks/asians.... thinking the same about white british people, if you take thetime to understand cultural differences there are ££££££££££££ to be made, why not try to let bigotry not get in the way of business......... only on friday Ihad an issue with a chinese man........ thier culture has a lot to do with "face" and me saying I COULD NOT FIT THEM IN FOR A CLEAN till next friday meant I was losing face...... so I will be working on monday for a very very good rate.....triple the norm... and I get friday off........ the guy guy who quoted on the phone (cd) as it happens has lost a £900 job lol.
