hi i have been offered pure @ £15 per 1000ltrs. if i do it my self my waste is 2 or 3 to 1 so if i bought 1000 ltrs @ £1. time it goes through my system i would end up with 300ltrs or so. again would need to buy 3000ltrs to get 1000 pure. ok now spent £3 on water alone how much replacement ro filters 20-30 pounds?factor in the di to finally polish i have quite high tds around 290 so a bit of di required. i also have to purchase and maintain equipment.
cost of a basic 200gpd system and some bits and bobs cost of say 5000 ltrs i would set up to be in the region of £150 tops for basic system. the more that is put through the cheaper it gets per 1000ltrs. the filters do last more than 5000ltrs specially when you back flush filters to prolong life of membraines.
so for no investment just fill up with pure from a supplier no waste no waiting except to fill up. possibility of purchase of water you buy being set against tax?
i can see that just filing up with pure water at a supplier is seriously worth considering!
if the price was to reduce even further then i cant see it being worth producing water at home? what do you think
