Trolley pumps
« on: August 17, 2006, 06:01:47 pm »
i have just picked up a council building but it is right on a busy main road and was thinking about building a trolley system,
i only need a small one as i all ready have a van mount,
could anyone tell me if a 40psi pump would be ok for a 18' pole?
i am not gonna have much hose on the trolley (about 2-3 metres)
if a 40 psi pump would be ok could someone tell me where to get one from,
Thanks All

The sureflow backpack has a 40psi pump and will get to the 3rd floor no problem.
Stick one of these on a shopping trolley and you would be sorted.
They are also great for stand alone jobs, just take it out of the van, connect your pole and away to go. This is a far cheaper option than building a trolley system.
I use both trolley and backpack, it's a case of horses for courses. Dai

Hi ScrimShady,

If you already have a van mount why not invest in a longer hose 100m say, and use that?

williamson pumps will sort you out for a 35/40psi pump but be warned, if you plan to use the pump regularly it will most likely die a death, the smaller pumps are not built for this type of work.

it will only be used on very rare occasions

you should be ok to go for the 35psi pump then, they're about half the price of the larger pumps so I would have a spare with me at all times - also make sure you use quick connectors in case you have to change pumps while out on a job.

Not sure, ring williamson pumps on monday morning, tell them you want a 35/40psi diaphragm pump with a min of 4 ltr/min.  I can't remember the model number, will look it up for you.

I think they are around £45 +VAT.

remember they must be 12v.
