You could try a post in the equipment for sale/wanted often tm's change equipment and have items left over, I can remember 1 going for a silly price (£10-£50) 'cos it had been stuck in someone's garden for a couple of years, a coat of paint and it looked like new. You could also try your local fabricators, Glynn Waterworth could get them made up quite cheaply I seem to remember.

i think the local weiders and fabricators is a good idea, also for stainless steel water tanks, the old man had one made up for £320 water tank that is about 500ltr workmanship was impressive too they put 3 folds in the steel so that only one edge had to be weilded and that edge was overlapped and weilded twice :o

What about an old fire hose reel? Would that be about the right size?

Nah, I coil 'em up and put 'em in large bag type things (Porty hoses).

Ebay item: 330018014127 is the sort of thing I'm thinking of, after the fire hose has been pulled off. (It's not my item, BTW)
