Shelving for Shed
« on: November 01, 2024, 04:17:24 pm »
If anyone is interested with the amount of stuff we collect. I built a shed for someone I knew and they offered me the other shed for £200. They were 6 by 8 and I knew how to build it so I said yes. No one wanted it so I built it on my back garden facing the other big shed. You guessed it the moment I built it a few folk were asking about it. My twin slot white shelving arrived today so I'm screwing the uprights on the timber studs. I don't think there is anything better out there because you can move the shelves to fit the size of stuff you want to store. Link below if anyone is interested and I managed to make an error when building the shed, must be an age thing. 😂

In other news, I bought 2 olive trees at an auction today. Auto bids. Cost me over £800. 10' high. I hedged my bets thinking I might win one but ended up winning 2. Fo@k knows where I'm going to put them. I was going to go to the auction in person tomorrow. Stupid tw@@t got the wrong day 😜

Ps, I've got those slot shelves all over my garage.
We look at them, they look through them.

So you dismantled a shed for someone and took it away for them aswell, because in your own words, "no one else wanted it".

While in the process you gave them £200 for doing it.

Shrewd, real shrewd, this time next year Rodney.......................

Care home received 2 sheds and then covid happened so they never got built. Ended up giving both to my customer for nothing. I built one for her and bought the other for £200 then I found out they were worth £930 each. Ended up keeping if for myself and now its got the twin slot shelving fitted. Lights will arrive soon and then I can begin the process of rearranging all my stuff once I have time. Hope this helps you understand what happened.

Update on the olive trees. I emailed the auction room and they have managed to find a buyer for one of the trees. I've still got to get the b@5tard home yet. I've been fencing in the garden today.

I need a shed if anyone knows of one going cheap 😜

Will do once its finished. Bought clear plastic tubs to hold materials, so I can see what's in them. 😉

I once bought shares in a Greek Oil Company and I didn't even know Greece had oil fields. They didn't, I later found out it was olive oil they were producing, needless to say they went down the pan. 🤑

So no one wanted a shed that was worth £930?…..Your story’s are becoming more unbelievable by the day!
Also, your customer received  2 sheds for free, you built one of the sheds for her for nothing, then she had the audacity to charge you £200 for the other one🤣……I can’t take any more🤣🤣🤣

What are you talking about. I built the concrete base for £500 and then built one of the sheds for £200 so I was to received £700 in total. Her son asked if I wanted the other one for £200 so I took the other shed and £500. Then I built the shed at my bit and now shelving it out with twin slot.

Just got asked to build a 30m fence for a customer round the corner from me at £3k but said I'll do it in the Spring.

This all comes about because I'm their window cleaner and come to me first because they trust me implicitly. Another reason is because I'm reliable and any complaints they will discuss it at their next clean.

I'm working 7 days a week at the moment playing catch up.

I've just done about 60' and it cost me about £300 in materials and a couple of Saturday's.
