A cleaner on the other forum, who I have a lot of respect for, stated this: (I hope he doesn't mind me copying it, but he sums it up perfectly.)

"You guys, the second a hot water post comes up, you're all over it. Hot water is fine but, it's not the be all and end all new fangled game changer some make it.

For me, it helps with some dirty jobs but, for the most, when it's cold, I pop the hot on just to make life easier for me.

I do have to agree that using hot will clean quicker, not better, (probably shooting myself in the foot in saying that) but quicker. Is it worth the cost? For me yes.

For some, it may be a cost that they can't see to justify, which is fair enough."

He is certain right about cleaning quicker. In my case I have that unfounded 'worry' at the back of my mind that I must keep going quickly as concentrating a jet of hot water on the glass could cause it to crack. I even changed my jets to fan jets to spread the heat.

There's absolutely zero chance it's quicker on monthly cleans as you only scrub the window once, so for it to be quicker than that it would need to not scrub at all. Otherwise it's on the glass the same amount of time.

There’s no way you can get bee pollen off quickly without hot water and bird muck for me hot water is a must not just a luxury thing I’m on the coast though even 2 weekly jobs on the seafront get covered in salt and bird muck I ran gas your years £200 set up if it was just a luxury thing I would never shell out 6k the benefits of hot are well worth it for me

Depends on your work we have hot in all our vans and it makes a huge difference in time saving on regular monthly work especially costal stuff with salt and baked  on seagull poo . I would never go back to cold it’s not cheap to install or run but it’s definitely worth the expense.

In my opinion excluding those that work on the coast for regular domestic maintenance window cleaning it’s a luxury and nothing more.

My work is commercial but a large proportion is block management work.Regular monthly maintenance cleans on apartments is a large part of it.

I had use of one of Grippa tanks demo vans a few years back now there is no denying it’s a great system but it made absolutely no difference to speed of clean.I can’t remember the exact price but I think it was around 5 k which works out as a very expensive pair of gloves.

If your doing a lot of industrial window cleaning or costal work as well as cladding and Fsc I could probably see it of some benefit but the average window cleaner maintaining monthly residential work which would be most then no just save  your money.

I've only been going 6 years so there's one job that makes hot water a must and that's first cleans. Every month I pick up a few new customers and i have to clean the windows twice and the glass 3 times so not to get any complaints. That's one reason I love my hot water system.

low TDS where I live.  I fill my tank with hot water in the mornings, water is still warm when i finish.
I have a hot tap fitted outside.
 I t is nice to work with, but I couldn't justify buying a hot system.
But  that may change at some point

I usually find warm people use hot water and cold people stick with cold. Maybe its hard for them to change but we have got to bite the bullet to make our job easier and forget about the cost. After I gave up thinking about money and put all my focus on my business the money started to flow in and my advertising costs went down and now to zero. Having a weekly plan became more important, that 10mins saved me a ton of time. fwiw

I use hot water , it doesnt make me earn any more money , its slightly quicker but that is offset by the cost of diesel .......i mostly use it because it makes my day a bit easier and more comfortable.     On first cleans , you can achieve the same thing by just using some ubik 2000 and cold water.
