Pure Freedom RO - Booster pump dropping pressure
« on: July 01, 2024, 09:07:45 pm »
Hi,
Wondered if anyone else has had issues with their RO booster pump slowly decreasing pressure.
My shiny new RO started life a year ago with the ability to dial up to 140psi, this was always throttled back to 100psi for optimum membrane pressure.
It then decreased to 100psi flat out, few months later it was 80psi and now it’s maxed out at 60psi.
My membrane is coming up to be replaced but still ok. There is a replacement rotary vane you can buy for the booster pump so I’m wondering if this is the part that is responsible for the gradual decrease in pressure. The pump motor sounds absolutely fine and runs smooth as it did when new.
Any ideas about this would be much appreciated!.
Thanks

It sounds like replacing the rotary vane in the booster pump might be your best bet to restore the pressure worth a try before changing the whole pump.
