Unger Resin - One year on....
« on: October 25, 2023, 05:03:44 pm »
I took the plunge a decided to switch from Tulsion to Unger resin a year ago.    As a resin only purifier, I usually get through one 25Kg bag every 3 months give or take.  Every Tulsion bag had varied lasting results, but I've seen a steady decline in quality and with the cost inflating so much I decided to change.

Okay Unger is not much cheaper now, but a bag is  lasting on average 4 months and changing is less frequent.  So it's saved me one whole 25kg bag over the year.

I have to say the resin looks and feels much better packaged to me too.  But that's just my opinion.

Good info, I stopped using Tulsion for the same reason about 4 years ago. Been using Unger ever since.

Ditto, strange goings on with Tulsion, batches seemed to vary.
Unger seems ok, maybe not quite as good as the original Tulsion from years ago.

I agree tulsion don’t seem as good - just order this for the first time will update at a later date with my findings.

I've only been using Unger for the last few years but noticed that it doesn't last as well as before .
I'm guessing the quality of the resin that's on the market is declining and also seems to depend on the batch .
The last bag I've got from Soap National in Ipswich seems to be a paler colour than before .

Or the water pressure when she's having a marathon bean eating session in the bath 🤣

I bought a job load of Tulsion due to moving house as I had to rent a holiday let for a couple of months between change over. I've still got a bag left in the garage, 7 years on 🤪
We look at them, they look through them.

Can't you keep your flat as well Daz? Little bolt hole when you need some time alone , must be quite a hard decision letting it go? Unlikely you'd ever be given a council flat again seeing how successful your business has become and how much of a nest egg you have saved away.

You’ll probably qualify for a massive discount under the right to buy scheme - flats are 50% discount and then extra…. Saves you paying rent when you’re retired if you pay the mortgage off

https://www.gov.uk/right-to-buy-buying-your-council-home/discounts

If you’ve been in your flat for 20 years and it’s worth 100k now - you could buy it for 30k with a 70% discount

Pretty sure it’s housing association and not council so not eligible for right to buy.

Daz doesn’t want to ever retire either so no issue there  ;D

That’s a good point 😁, however it’s any public landlord as in council , housing associations, armed forces and nhs. Although the discount may vary for each one
