On the other hand I have two rows of houses along the A4 where they started life as semi's in the 1930's and over time have become linked by garages and extensions with single locked gates shared here and there.

I have them as fronts only. Bang bang bang all the way along for about half a mile each side less a few non customers here and there.

If they want the back doing occasionally they tell me and I add it on. And I charge more than the fronts because typically there are sides and maybe a lean to conservatory or bi-fold doors AND they are every other time or more infrequently.

Typically the front will be £8-£10 but if I do the rest I add £12-15.
It's a game of three halves!

Ive had it a couple of times where ive cleaned say a £12 house, only been able to do the front so charged £8.

Then when ive checked my bank theyve just pad £6  :D

I had one text me saying we will pay half which is fair....

I remember one customer which was £13, he always left the gate locked every time, it got to the point i didnt check it anymore and just cleaned the front. I  always wrote £7 on the slip for the front. He always paid me £6.50 every time
If he was always leaving the gate locked  and underpaying why carry on cleaning  for him ?
He would of been gone off my round after a couple of cleans , sod having people take the pi$$.

It's a funny one because I dont normally stand for messers, ive dropped a few this last week but the rule can always be broken if its convenient for me.

I weighed up it took me 3 or 4 mins to clean his 6.50 front whilst I was in the street cleaning another 2.

I've one the same at the moment gate always locked but it's next door to another so don't care

My apologies for my earlier comment.  I must have misread/misunderstood the initial post and thought the full amount had still been charged.

Id reply saying "Your bill was £7 not £6.50, i may have only cleaned half the windows but that's not the full job, i have still had to get to your property, set you a reminder text etc and the associated cost for that are the same regardless of how may of your windows i clean. Can you pay the full amount on your invoice. Thanks"

One thing about this job. It shows up how different people are.
In situations like these some get it straight away without asking for an explanation, some get it and agree after you explain, some get it but still don't agree after you explain, some just never get it no matter how much you try to explain, and then there are those that recognise their fault in an issue and offer to pay the full amount without you having to ask or explain.
