Leisure battery supply
« on: May 02, 2023, 01:38:18 pm »
Hi,,
I need a new leisure battery to run one pump. Single operator.
Currently using a yuasa 80 ah, bought from Halfords and charged daily with a Ctek charger.
Looking at Tayna batteries for supply.
Anyone recommend a suitable make and amp hours.
Thanks

I’ve been using numax 105ah. They last more than a week with our workload which means only a charge over the weekend

Have you noticed that the Numax range have been derated again? I see that the battery that was 105amps is now rated at 95 amps.

As I only recommend Numax Combat1 due to its giving us exceptional service, I haven't been following other makes and if they have been derated as well.

For a battery to drive a pump only, I would order a Numax DC27MF which would be fine imho.
You don't need anything with a CCA rating. (Cold Cranking Amps. A leisure battery with a CCA rating is a combo battery, halfway between a starter and a leisure battery - so not a perfect solution as either.)

Tanya have given us excellent service as well. I ordered a starter battery for my van a couple of weeks ago at 5 in the evening and it arrived next day, packaged absolutely brilliantly and with instructions how to fit it without losing the radio codes, etc.

But Tanya are very hot on not giving warranty claims by window cleaners as we are classed as battery abusers. So we expect that we have to take the risk of warranty ourselves.
