Hose rollers unspooling
« on: January 02, 2023, 06:15:26 pm »
Hi all.

A while back I posted about …

“We use and have used rollers through the floor for some time. At the end of the job we put the pole in the racking and close the tailgate on the hose through the door. I wondered if anyone did similar and what their solution is for stopping the hose unspooling off the reel sometimes and sagging down through the rollers.”

We had a product at this point and have had it in testing for some months. We needed to make sure it consistently worked as it was designed to and was strong enough to stand up to the back of a window cleaners van.

The time has come and it’s now a working product. So I thought I would share with you all. The ‘Hose Trapper’ is cheaper than a univalve 😂😂

Nice idea

I would have gone down a lock bolt on my he reel - but that looks very handy

Never argue with an idiot, they will only bring you down to their level, and beat you with experience

This wouldnt happen with a decent reel, must be slack as a bag of knackers when pulling the hose out if it can unspool like that.

All reels will do it to a degree regardless  of how well the hose is on the reels

Thank you for your kind words.

Locking the reel wouldn’t work for us as we operate with reels buried in the vans. Would mean crawling into the van to lock it each time.

I thought there has to be some other window cleaners that might find it useful.

It also can keep the van a bit neater depending on the set up
