Anyone use one to stop kit freezing?

I live in a flat so no way of putting an electric heater in there.

If you use one, can you leave it safely overnight?

And please post a link to where I can buy one if you have one to recommend.

It would need to be a properly fitted webasto type air heater , if you just put a freestanding gas heater in , your van will fill with condensation and it would be dangerous .

I'm not recommending this as I haven't used one.

Years back, a number of windies in your position bought Propex HS2000 gas heaters. They need to be installed with the exhaust and inlet outside the van, so through the van's floor as you would a diesel air heater.

You will also need to carry a gas bottle and also have a 'drain' in the van's floor to allow gas to escape in case of a leak.

The disadvantages:
Gas is expensive, and the bottle takes up valuable floor space.
Gas bottle purchase requires non-returnable deposit.
Gas bottle needs to be fitted inside a sealed compartment only accessible from outside of the van or mounted outside. (Caravan and motorhome regulations.) Google gas safe locker.


The heater itself also has to be mounted on the floor.
Gas safety issues.


Advantages:
Requires very little battery power to ignite the heater. Diesel heaters are power hungry on start-up.

Two lads who do work near where I do some work have wfp hot water system powered by gas....bit like a shower box......it gets quite hot.
