Pure Freedom and Streamline electric reel.
« on: December 01, 2022, 08:16:12 am »
I want to get a new electric hose reel and was wondering what the difference is between the Pure Freedom and Streamline ones as they look very similar.

As far as I can tell the Streamline one is the PureFreedom one but it may be the hot version with the additional metal discs on the reel at a £150 premium.
Sorry to tell you this but PureFreedom had a 20% off last Friday! My reel is arriving today.

You can still get 10% off at PureFreedom by joining their mailing list!

Hi Ched

I’m interested to know how you find the pure freedom reels ?

We’ve got Grippa tank reels in one of our vans and all waterworks in the others. Have to say for the money spent  on them Grippa aren’t as good as waterworks new generation reels.

I’d be interested to hear about any alternatives.

Unfortunately I can't fit the reel till my through floor rollers arrive from grippa - they say another 3 weeks!!
I did look at the grippa reels as I liked the 2 year warranty etc then I was told 6 to 8 weeks wait that plus I couldn't find out much about their controller where as PF, I think use spring controller which I have faith in and PF had a 20% off on Black Friday.

I will report back when I have fitted the reel but it certainly looks well engineered.

I've had my pure freedom reel for 4 and a half years now and it's still going strong 💪 never missed a beat....

I did initially have a problem with it when it first got delivered(I'm convinced it was dropped in transit)as the chain kept coming off.in the end I drove to PF and they replaced the whole spindle and its been great ever since.

I will say they weigh an absolute ton!it's a very heavy reel but once fixed down are a very solid bit of kit.
price higher/work harder!

Small but perfectley formed

Had ours couple of  years very solid.
Only negative is they have a graphite washer in the swivel .
This brakes very easily if it freezes OK if you have a frost stat.
Would recomend draining down in - winter temps.

You don’t need an oil filter radiator the frost stat will kick in it if gets to 1 degree water temperature,

It's broke so I just put a radiator in overnight now.

Guessing it will be the grey wire and sensor need replacing. Costs less than £10 and takes seconds to fit I had to replace one of mine , Ian sheppard  sells them
