« on: April 29, 2022, 07:37:13 pm »
Been a long time since i heard this one but it reared its head again today  ???

New customer i quoted via email the other day, window cleaning for a 2 bed terraced plus conny.

Quoted him £14 ,4 weekly.

Did the job, spent ages on it getting it perfect then today got an email....you havent cleaned the conservatory.

Me being baffled i asked for some pics.

Hes only sent pics of the roof  ::)roll

In what world are you going to get a full conny clean and windows for £14 lol told him roof would be £80 not sure its going to go down well this.

If you clean con roofs or similar too cheap you end up losing money due to lost time when you could be cleaning windows  if you are cheap you’ll end up with everyone wanting them cleaned,I have a minimum on roofs and it’s similar to what you’ve quoted.
A 7-8 panel glass conservatory roof can surprise you how long it can take,to the customer it looks like little work when they tell you just run that brush thingy over it can you I just say you either want it done properly or I won’t do it.
I remember not that many years ago a well off customer who had a green  covered wooden conservatory roof came out and said to me if I stick another 5 pounds on your bank transfer will you clean that for me lol,it annoyed me so much I almost didn’t go back good job his wife apologised.

I always make sure they know the conservatory roof is a separate job and will cost extra , saves anyone trying it on.

I always include the outside of the gutter on a conservatory when quoting for a window clean as someone once posted 'you wouldn't put a beautiful picture in a filthy frame!!'
i find this makes it quite clear that the roof itself is not included in the quote but state that the roof is a seperate job and i'd be happy to quote for.

I always quote separate for the roof, you should have told him the roof will be separate.

I was on a private estate recently with a conservatory.

Wasn't asked to price it. Got a text later saying it hadn't been done. House on its own was just £50.

Customer came back a few weeks later asking for a quote for it. I said £80. Heard nothing. A week later she said she wanted it done but thought £80 was too expensive. I just replied I was fully booked to get rid of her. Rich customers can be a real nightmare.
