George Question
« on: February 26, 2022, 01:50:38 pm »
Hi, This is a question for anyone using George Software.

If you're using George with say, Windows 10, are you able to, and do you, send invoices through George ?

The reason I ask is I've been using George for the last 12 years and I have always used the Email function with George, but it has suddenly stoped working,. To be clear, George still works but not the emailed invoice section.

I use Windows 7 and I'm trying to find out if I use a more up to date version of Windows, will that work?

Many thanks.

I have never used George's invoice system. When we got George there was no invoicing system, so we used an excel based template from Microsoft and  a statement system as well. I do 3 or 4 invoices a month so it not a problem to do each manually.

I'm using George on a Windows 10 Surface Go tablet.
I used to run it on XP with Pocket George in the early days.

Hi, thanks for replying.

I send about 7-800 invoices a month so I really need it to be working.  I still use pocket George, and I have a spare pocket George in case it breaks.

I really like George, It does exactly what I need it to, and I really don't want to change if I don't have to.

Maybe I’m missing something here and don’t use the email facility properly , but what I do is download invoice as a pdf . Then go into your email as normal and attach

Hi Richard, there is no need to do that, as it takes too long. There is a facility within George itself that'll create and send invoices and statements automatically. I'm not in my office just now so I can't exactly pinpoint where it is, however try looking here: Go to settings, then misc tab at the bottom, then check the USE EMAIL CLIENT box. Unfortunately it won't work with my old windows 7 anymore lol.

Hope this helps.

Just a heads up in case you were unaware.

Paul Sanders of George is back at his post after an illness if you need to contact him.
