how old is your microbore hose?
« on: July 06, 2021, 06:58:25 pm »
ive just realised my hose is 3 years old this week as i got it the same time as my electric reel....ive had to cut around 2m off it near the connector due to pin holes over the years..also the outer rubber has started to split slightly and its pretty well worn in places....its been great with hot water though(its the PF red hose)....

what else is good hose for hot water use?i have got another 100m of the red hose on my spare manual cox reel but i want to keep that on so its an easy swap if i need to change reels.....

cheers in advance chaps.... :)

Replaced mine last year on its 10th birthday, was still in decent condition tbh, but wanted a new reel.

£390.

7 hours on the glass.

30 mins for lunch.

Oh wait?…………Wrong thread?  ;D

Pure freedom red hose for me too, it’s the best hot water hose I’ve found. It’s 2 years old and still fine. Previously Id only get a year or so out of a hose with hot water.

We use Gardiner yellow but they don’t sell it anymore but Doug at daqua sells it , I find it lasts very well with hot water 2-4 years or so .

It still lasts a couple of years with hot but over time it will degenerate internally I’ve had this a couple of times,it will swell and split with hot,if you use cold only it lasts years and years 10 years doesn’t surprise me at all tbh.
