Right here's  the question a mate of mine uses gardiners backpack but sometimes comes across an awkward house ,he's gonna put a pump and controller on wall off van what he wants to know is can you get a device that can pull the water from more than one barrel at a time and before you all start saying get a tank he's not interested I've already tried to get him to buy one ,hope you all understand what I'm asking and cheers in advance

I suppose he could put a t/y connector into the hose that draws the water from the barrel and drop the 2 hoses into 2 separate barrels ....... or just buy a bigger barrel as am guessing he’s running out of water from the single barrel.
If I was him ( and I would never use barrels ) I would look for a flat 100L tank but just tell him it’s not a tank it’s a bigger barrel

Yes a pipe with several tee pieces - but whether a shurflo pump would cope is another matter

alternatively hozelock do a manifold where you can feed 4 hoses from the mains - this should work in reverse and with this you could turn off individual feeds

I use 25L barrels with a PF trolley for all of my work.  Occasionally I leave trolley in the vehicle and just run a hose straight out of the back like a small van mount.  I've never had the need to connect more than one barrel at a time but I would imagine there could be an issue with airlocks if they were all connected together and one barrel ran dry before the others.
I don't know what his reasons for wanting to connect them together are but I think I'd be inclined to suggest to him to use a length of minibore as his pickup hose with a strainer on the end like PF supply for their trolleys and make it long enough to reach the furthest barrel if he doesn't want to lug them around the back of his van.  I think he would probably find this less problematic than connecting several barrels together. 
However, there is I believe, at least one window cleaner who has posted on one of the forums that he worked with barrels connected together for a while, though I think he now has a tank fitted in his van. Perhaps he'll see this thread and comment on his experience.

I think the reason for multiple bottles is so he doesn't have to keep running back to van all time

I am guessing he wants to easily empty the van at weekends to use if for something different.

I would go down the route of three or four 100 litre tanks. These can be taken out and stored easily.

As I can do all of my work with less than 25m of hose, I never use anything more than 5mm ID PU pole hose.  I recently damaged my 25m hose trapping it under a gate, so I'm seeing how I get on with only an 18m length. So far it's working out fine.

However, If I needed to use longer than 30m, and especially if it was on a reel I'd probably use microbore (6mm ID)

For reference:  I only use two 100 degree fan jets in my brushes, even my 35cm Xtremes and I get more than enough flow.
