Hi all, another question....(your stupid alert alarms should now be sounding!)

Ok......When you obtain new customers, how do you work it.

i.e

Access, say it is terraced/semi type housing, getting around the back....most people will more than likely not be in when you start so how do you get through the working week.

I know this must be a 'silly' question but it is on my mind, so I thought I would throw it to you all.

ps got all my gear now (traditional) will be firing in anger so to speak start of the new month.

In all the years I have been doing wc, I would say 95% of customers have no locks on there back gates,

if they have, you can either phone them the night before, and gain access that way, or you can climb the gate, or even lean over and unbolt them.

When you take on any new customers, just check with them about your access if there not home.

I often thought of making a claw/and hammer  type tool about 2ft long for reaching over and undoing the slide bolt from the top of 6ft gates

if my customers put a lock on the gate i ask them to put a combination lock on and tell me the combination if not and i cant reach over i just do the front but charge extra , i never seem to have a problem though

A couple of my customers have given me a key to their back/side gate.

Others I text or ring them the day before and they leave the gate unlocked. If it's a padlock I try to lock it again when I leave.

I've learned to check the gate before I start, and don't do the front if I can't get to the back. In my experience the people who forget to leave their gate open are the worst payers.
