Just a heads up for anyone that uses these cheap and cheerful reels like me. I buy them and when they fall apart after a year or two I replace.

I had been getting them from a supplier that no longer supplies them and as you are probably aware they can be got for about £38/£40 ex vat and delivery elsewhere. But spares are not so readily available.

However,  you may find that if it leaks after a time rather than replace the reel you want to buy the (usually left hand) black male spindle that goes through the reel frame on a plastic bearing between the hoselock microbore fitting and the hose feed connector from your pump.

If so I have found a supplier for them. If of interest just say.

I would but I see no need. A Claber with 65m of microbore and 35m of reinforced pole hose works well for me.

I would but I see no need. A Claber with 65m of microbore and 35m of reinforced pole hose works well for me.


I have, pretty much, exactly the same setup and it works for me too.

They arnt a bad reel I had them for years and still do have a couple in the garage with old hose on them , the weak point is the plastic centre spindles the one with the winding handle is the one that breaks if  to much strain is put on it when winding in , they also don’t like hot water it will crush the centre metal bits and bend the side discs .

Where do you get these from? Do they have a screw in centre so a 6mm hose can be connected straight in or need to be adapted

They have a hose lock 1/2 inch male fitting in the centre so you need an adapter

You got a link then please? I’ve got about four broken ones with bits missing. The welding on the disc goes and the grey bushes seem to vanish.

Mine took6 weeks.   Motors were  Delayed In  port.

They told be they are waiting for the rotary joints from China and something stainless steel in the centre drum that’s made in Europe that they cannot get at the moment .
