Morning was just wondering what you guys recommend using to remove excessive amounts of plaster rendering etc off the windows

I wouldn’t recommend anything. I’d just avoid the job.

Sounds like a ballache even though plaster is soft.

We used to use plenty of hot soapy water and lots of very sharp blades , but most importantly a scratch waiver !

Used to do builders cleans but they never wanted to pay what the job was worth so avoid them like the plague now ,to much hassle make more money on other jobs

If it’s just brown plaster it just comes off with a wet cloth the things to avoid are cement splattered windows,I have used razors in the past and still use 1 for labels and celotape only in 6” form.
No matter how careful you are with scrapers there’s a very very good chance you’ll scratch the glass with them especially if you do a big area with say a 2” scraper,the best thing to remove any debris from glass is Bronze wool I’ve used it the last few years and it’s miracle stuff 95% of the time now a scraper is redundant.

I would recommend using another window cleaner.

firstly make the building contractor sign a disclaimer avoiding all liability if glass is scratched during cleaning.
new razor blade for every window
