bought a new spring controller dec but keeps saying my battery has low voltage which isn't the case as i have a volt meter which tells me battery fully charged question is can i turn of the volt reading of the controller to stop it turning machine of
Hi The controller has a built in volt meter and is regularly checking the battery condition. Depending on the age of the battery it may not be holding a charge very well.
The Controller will warn once voltage reaches 11V while under load from the pump and at 10.5V the controller will stop the pump to prevent damage to the battery cells.
Most leisure batteries can be discharged to 50% of capacity and if the battery is at around 11V it has reached the 50 % discharge point. A sign of a worn battery is that it show low voltage after about 30 minutes use and the volts fall way suddenly. A good condition battery will gradually fall off over about 4 - 6 hours
Out of interest how old is the battery ? and how often is it bench charged with a mains charger
The Controller does have a low battery cut off over ride, Please be aware that if the battery condition is poor that the pump will simply exhaust the battery to a point where it is unusable
