Just a quickie.

When cleaning with wfp, does the build up of spiders cob webs in corners of window frames contaminate the end of your brush and do you have to keep cleaning it off, or does the spray from the jets remove these and you can clean all day without having to clean the brush.

Its a bit of both really. Most times you don't see the cobwebs because they are too high.The bigger problem is not having them contaminate the brush its having them come adrift and contaminating the glass. By the time the brush comes back down its clean.

So how can you be sure you're doing a good job with wfp if you clean the frames as well (which i will be). At this time of the year there are cobwebs everywhere.

Thats why you give it a good going over on the first clean. It only really is a problem on first cleans when you start disturbing years of accumulated filth.

.Also you warn the lady of the house in advance that this new system is SOOOO good that it pulls the dirt out from every little nook and cranny and there is always a chance that some of it might cause a few spots or runs the first time.
All of this is true and you turn it into a positive advantage. Also it gives you a bit of leeway if there are a few runs.

So if i've been cleaning all framework and windows traditionally, how long do you think i should spend on each window on the first cleans to ensure the ground on dirt is removed properly.

Also how long do you normally spend cleaning each pane thereafter providing there are no major blobs of bird poo and such stuck on them.

Ok cobwebs.. they do get onto the brush.  We use dog combs to clean them. It's really easy and very quick. Just a quick comb through the bristles and it's done.

1st clean times.. wow this is a "how long is a pice of string" type question.

I honestly can't put a time on them. They are all so different.  What I can say is that on our 1st time round with WFP we were in fact slightly slower than with trad. 2nd time slightly faster and from then on we began to fly round. You do reach a plateau and I reckon it took us 4 to 5 times around to get there. In our case with mostly domestic work its around 50% faster than with trad.

Its more the comined factors that increase speed rather than just time at the window with the pole. I know we could knock off the average 2 openers and one large pane window in around 20 secs from water on to water off.  We dont have to rush though.. its silly getting the kit to make your life safer and easier then wearing yourself out. 50% more productive and a safer/easier life isn't bad at all.

Thanks for that Andrew.

At least that's cleared up one issue that might have arisen with using wfp. I asumed that because of the pure water running over the brushes constantly that they probably wouldn't need cleaning.

You might have read from my other post that i went to look at van mounted systems the other day. I know you supply the Freedom Trolley but can you offer the full van mount including installation at a reasonable price.

If you are able to have your brush bristles facing upwards the dirty water runs downwards to the head of the brush and drops off the head of the brush . If your bristles face downwards the dirty water runs back onto the glass.
Its a chicken and egg situation.
