cleaning out a oil tank to store pure water any thoughts

Beeing a tight wad, I was thinking of getting a oil tank  to clean out for pure water  !

would this be a waste of time, or has anyone done it ?

I shall await your thoughts  !

Not something i would do,what you need is an ibc thats had food stuff in them not oil

Just buy an Ibc. Only fifty quid.

sorry I should have said I was thinking of 2000 or 2500 Litres ! to make sure Iv'e got plenty in case of a problem with the ro  !

dont do it. Get 2 IBC's and stack them

You can steam clean them to food grade easily enough but I wouldn't bother.
Just get some IBC's.

ibc is the way to go - I have 4 2 lower with 2 stacked above - the top 2 are linked and then I have a valve to dump into bottom 2  which are linked with 2" hose from the outlets and a sub pumping 1 of them - I actually use 2000 litres a day and never have a problem  ::)roll ::)roll ::)roll ::)roll.   ;D

I have 2 Ibc tanks you can have off me for free in staffordshire, been using them for years for pure water
