Just wondering how many people that are like me and don’t post but are on daily.

Why don’t you participate??

If you are reading only, that is fine but its often better to participate.  Yes some on here can be sarky and some can be argumentative, whikst others are helpful and some are boastfull.  Yet you will probably know this by now and know who these ones are, but its up to you to bite or not.  Or even to bounce back and have a laugh instead.  Overall if you dont take this too seriously then its a great place to interact.

This site is a tremendous resource and particularly the window cleaning part of it. The lads on here are very helpful and have saved me a lot of money . I switched from trad to wpf and they told me how to do it . Like many other things over the years the advice was spot on. Personally I don't post much mainly because I feel there are guys on here who have forgotten more than I'll ever know about window cleaning and are in a much better position to advise !

I have posted at times …. but I am not very confident even though I have been window cleaning for 29 years ...I do have a different approach than most on here …
even though I have a different idea on how I work as regards equipment , I have the same work ethic as daz for the most part. I find his posts inspirational.  ( even tho I did stop for six weeks during the pandemic )   but that was because my partner is on the front line , and I couldn't be certain that I wasn't carrying the virus … as it turns out we both became unwell!

Zesty has also been very helpful when I have asked questions about softwashing… I am so greatfull

Glad to help mate, and yes, I love Daz, he’s the clean it up ‘Ray of Sunshine’.

It would be really good for more of you to join in, makes for a better forum!

You just just have to accept that everyone’s an ‘expert’ and you’ll always get strong opinions on a forum, face to face, I bet everyone’s very different  ;D

Where do you live james? You can always come out with me on a softwash job to ‘learn the ropes’ if close enough.

When I joined in 2005 I lurked for about 5 minutes , I then launched my campaign of newbie questions about WFP  ;D ;D ;D
I was amazed at the help I got , all other help that was available at that time was from suppliers, they just wanted my money  !

In my  time on here I think that In the old days this forum was rammed full of people who couldn’t do enough for you, don’t get me wrong , it’s still in my view the best place to go for help , I can’t say as I actually dislike any members on here  ;D ;D ;D
Which I can’t say about FB pages  :o :o :o

Take part and ask away I say , I did and would like to think that people see me as having given something back in return.........

And now I will await the abuse  ;D ;D
I'm so lazy I'm getting tired of it !

I don’t know what it is about social media.

Just an example. When I was about two years in I bumped into a local windie who’s now a mate. He asked how many customers I had and I said about 500. He looked devastated and said “wow, I’ve been going 5 years and only have 200 customers. How did you do it?” I said “leaflets”. He said “leaflets don’t work mate”. I just smiled and changed the subject as he was obviously being very stupid. On here I’d have felt the need to tell him he was being an idiot and explain why.

when you have been going in this business for near on 30 years , you get a nose for who is talking nonsense .
you also realise that you can learn a lot from others
