so switched boiler on as usual at 830am this morning....nothing....no light ......so i checked the fuses and one of them had broken and melted into the fuse holder....managed to get it out and replaced with a fresh fuse and its all working fine again now.....

this is the second time this has happened now in 2 and a half years.....not a major problem but ive also noticed the fault code(3 flashes meaning low power)when turning my heater off at the end of my day has stopped.....its now just a continual red light which is fine......

i ended up buying 2 new numax batteries in january due to this fault code thinking my batteries were on their way out...they probably werent......luckily i didnt throw them away and have them fully charged at home(i give them a top up charge every 2 months).........

any ideas what might be causing this one particular fuse to blow every so often?

This happened to me a couple of times I checked a few weeks ago it kept turning off intermittently checked yellow 20amp fuse at the top of the holder and it was gone,replaced and then it worked for a while.
I’m wondering if it could be an earth somewhere on the system that’s tripping it,another thing I was going to ask Oliver was can the batteries be over charged as I thought they couldn’t be,if I charge overnight or say 15 hours it hasn’t been as reliable as it is when I’ve charged for 8-10.

Cause: If the fuse itself has not blown, but the fuse holder melted, it indicates that the fuse holder was making poor contact with the fuse. ... If there is significant resistance in the contact between fuse and fuse holder, a current well below the fuse rating can cause enough heat to melt an inline fuse holder.

Mine didn’t melt mine blew a couple of times,on 1 occasion I pulled the fuse out and the metal inside the fuse holder pulled itself completely out.
The thing that is confusing is that if I charge overnight for say 16 odd hours the next day it may play up,if I’ve given it 8-10 it works perfect.
The charging setup I have from Grippa with the B-B and the mains setup plug 🔌 I was told prevents from overcharging.

it takes 5 mins to change a fuse so not much of a faff really....its the second time its happened in 2 and a half years.......i think ill change the fuse holder when i get chance.........

nigel i dont have any problems with charging the batteries...i usually leave them charging overnight and disconnect in the morning just before heading out....the heater works great whether ive charged them for 10 hours or 48 hours........

i had an artwork clean on a main road to do first thing this morning so didnt want to clean it with cold water!......

water temperature was up at 65-70c at brush end even with loads of hose out today!

If you use a smart charger you cannot over charge a battery as it monitors the batteries state of charge and goes into float mode when it’s fully charged , mine is permanently plugged into the mains when the vans at home and the batteries are as good as new after 6:5 years

It’s not the batteries Daz it’s the heater itself although it’s been working fine,the water was proper hot 🥵 today 🤣,I turned my brush at one point and the water hit me in the face literally scolded me 🤣🤣 well over 60 odd degrees

Mine has all the charging gubbins in the van from them bolted to the tank frame,it must be a sudden change in voltage or similar when the heaters running like I say working fine last few days.
