maintaining sprayer for sealant
« on: April 21, 2020, 05:03:44 pm »
I used a new spray today for the first time. It's v similar to the Gloria 410. I emptied the unused sealant, rinsed with water and then filled with five litres of xylene and ran through the pump back into the xylene tin. I took the nozzle off and put into a small jar of xylene.
Is this the right method? What do you guys do?
There was still quite a bit of the non slip powder coating the inside of the pump.

Sounds like you've done everything you can mate - personally I wouldn't be spending that amount on a sprayer - I find ik9's excellent  - and it doesn't matter  so much when the guys brake it.

Out of interest how long did it take to flush out and clean ?

Five minutes Darran.
My problem is I love a sales pitch. The guy told me his customers are raving about it and it's £60 cheaper than the Gloria. Sold.
It was great to use. I also bought a different nozzle that handles the non slip powder better than the standard. I used a small broom for the edges and then the sprayer for the rest 132 sq meters in less than ten minutes.

Hi Kev. I got it from Pics in Irlam. They are still open for business. It’s a Smith Performance Sprayer.

This is probably a stupid question, but can I {safely, without damage} use the new sprayer for weed killing too?
