Exceed pole bung alternative
« on: December 06, 2019, 07:25:01 pm »
I needed to convert my other pole to tubeless, and by chance realised that a JG 1/2” pipe end fits the Xtreme 22 (and probably many others) like a glove.
Just need to finish off drilling the hole through the middle that is already present using 8mm bit.  The pole hose fits snugly through the hole. Put on you male rectus fitting or whatever, ‘o’ ring it on. Job done.
They cost 64p from Gardiners or you can buy the original from Exceed for £5  :o
 HTH somebody.

Thanks for that info Deluce 👍

Exceed ones are crap
Ordered one months ago

Only had it a short while and the flat disc bit that has hole in completely come off

Which is what happened to previous one this time a lot quicker

Sent a complaint to exceed no reply

Tried exceed and tubeless for a couple of years.

In the new year I plan to give the Gardiners competitor a go

Also grit stop so will have to use
Pole hose
(Need a new slx 25 hoping grit stop helps longevity)

I do get around 2 years out of a slx👍
And I’m a bit lazy with maintenance 🤭

Thanks again for tip
Let’s hope Alex Gardiners doesn’t put price up from 64p to £5 😀🎄

This is what you want to fit into the extreme 18 pole just put a turn on insulation tape around it and it fits like a glove

I been doing this for years, you may have seen my posts on how I did mine but I use the jg insert then glue a piece of reel hose to the end of the pole hose with the Male rectus in and then glue that inside the jg insert and once its all set its not going anywhere and the Male rectus is very easy to connect onto rather than being wobbly in the end.
I tried the exceed kits and the only thing decent was female rectus sleeve which I kept out the kit!
Would never go back to not being hoseless
