I am looking to get a large amounts of customers to sign up to gocardless to reduce admin time and late payments

But I can’t decide on what incentive to offer the customers

Pending the price of the clients house, i adapt the letter to either 50% off or a free clean when signed up.
I did this in stages when I wanted a bulk of mine to go onto it.  However, all new clients have no other choice, they sign up straight away

Thanks for the replies  but I’m not sure if I’m confident enough to offer gocardless as the only payment option

Why not give new customers a price, which is discounted if signed up to go cardless !

Customers you already have,  offer them no price increase for 12 months if they sign up !

Ive not come across any objections in offering only GoCardless to new customers. In fact, as I've said before, I have gained customers because of this. 
The hard bit is getting existing customers to switch. I have some, which even after half price cleans  have been offered, still didnt want to switch.  However, after they owed 3 cleans and realised I wasnt collecting anymore realised it was a good idea so they dont get caught with a high bill

Just offer go cardless only going forward.

Then to existing ones send a text offering go cardless.

Then post letters offering go cardless

If that doesnt work do the same but offer a free clean for signing up.

If that doesn't work talk to them in person and try to convince them

If that doesn't work accept it or replace them

However, when pricing new jobs up, bare in mind you pay 20p plus % fee per transaction made. So adjust your prices accordingly

What reasons do you all use to try and persuade the customers to change over?
As in how it bennifits them to change over.

We can think of loads of reasons it would bennifit us, but to try and sell it to them and get them to change what to you tell them?

Also has many customers told you any reasons they don’t want to change over or things they are worried about.

Iv had a lot of customers Iv talked to that say they think it’s great but still havnt signed up fs it’s doing my head in.
Or ones that just say oh I don’t know if I like any of that but can’t tell me what it is they don’t like about it.

I would like to be able to do them a list of all the things people maybe are not sure about or worry about and a list of answers for these and the bennifits.
But nobody is telling me any of their worries their just not signing up as quick as I hoped for.

I really dont know what all the fuss is about either, and especially from other shiners knocking it as well.
Lets face it, Gas, Electric, TV, Road Tax, Council bills etc etc are all paid via direct debit but because its a guy/girl with a face and a small business, all of a sudden it becomes a problem.
So i sell it on the basis that its like any direct debit they already have and covered by all the same guarantees etc. Then add its the same benefits, as in not falling behind with payments and they have prove of payment etc etc

There's a lot of wibble on this subject, no need to do anything with good paying customers for bad or slow payers offer them direct debit only, if they don't accept remove them from your round.
