For those with hot water diesel heaters
« on: October 04, 2019, 06:50:36 am »
This is the deep cycle battery that works for me.

https://www.batterycharged.co.uk/shop/brands/crown-batteries/crown-31dc130-12v-130ah-deep-1243243.html

I've tried using normal leisure batts, but they aren't up to the job if you have a 9Kw webasto diesel heater.

Tayna were £365 including delivery, but you can get them from "Mitchell" at Battery Charged for £315.

His number is 01279 652067

And no, I'm not on commission!

My batteries are needing replaced soon I reckon.

Voltage is creeping lower and lower throughout the day.

I haven’t bought batteries in years though.
Grippatank added a 115 amp to my system with my heater last year, and I had a 100amp battery with my waterworks system installed the year before that.

I’m tempted to add 3 yuasa 100 amp batteries. Yuasa are my preferred brand.

I use 2 × 105ah numax starter/deep cycle batteries supplied by grippa.....nearly 2 years old now, they still work as good as the day they were installed and voltage the same.i do charge them up every night though with a numax 20amp charger and I have a b to b smartcharger fitted too.....I think it's very important to charge them up every day to keep them in good nick.....
price higher/work harder!

We use two x180 amp deep cycle heavy duty gell batteries in all our vans never get a problem running everything , 3 pumps , heater , and internal van lighting , and as of next week two electric reels , we mains charge most nights if at home if working away every couple of days . We work 8 hours a day that’s actual cleaning time and never have any issues of low battery or heater going into low run mode .

What’s your batteries splash? I’m looking for higher capacity ones if I can. Rather two, than three smaller ones.

They came from bbl batteries they are called haze 179 amp hour deep cycle gell heavy duty they are now 5 years old and charged most nights from a mains supply they have just been checked by a n electrician and he said they are still charging and holding charge as good as the day they were fitted . Cannot remember what I paid for the pair but think it was in the region of £350-400

Thanks splash.

Quality costs, but you don’t mind if your gonna get 5 plus years out of them. Well worth it.
