I've been reading up on the fixed terms parliament act.
It would be a huge gamble for the opposition to install Corbyn into No 10 for a few reasons, chiefly that once he's PM he would have to try and get an election with a two-thirds parliamentary majority.
The gamble here is what if he doesn't get that two-thirds majority? That would lead to a farcical situation and lots of teeth-gnashing.
Then Corbyn remains as PM till 2022.
A vote of no confidence requires a simple majority, but would be viewed as less damaging to BoJo, and he's doing well in the polls. Will Labour agree to that? They're going to get smashed at the next GE as things stand.
