Downside to small RO
« on: July 24, 2019, 10:15:44 am »
Well it looks like I'm not working in todays heat  ;D
I've been that busy I've forgot to top my ibc tank up with pure  ::)roll
I use a 500gpd RO and fill up /top up the ibc tank once or twice a week depending on the workload. First time in four years I've forgotten to do this and this morning, nothing left in the tank.
Atleast the big boys 4040's and a booster would have seen me back at work, but today its a day off with hot sweaty moody kids  ::)roll
Bring on the water guns 😁

I work the other way around, buy my RO ‘s so they produce the same amount of pure as it takes to fill my van tank , I just run it 24/7
Total basic system that gives me 001/002 , 100 gpd membrane at £40 every couple years
I'm so lazy I'm getting tired of it !

Once in 4 years is not too disastrous. Just start on the beer earlier today. Finished early today because of the heat and taking tomorrow off because for me it will be too hot to work.

I've now set up my mobile pump box, unger pole with the DA applicator on, to act as a water spray in the kids paddling pool.
They love it

If caught short you could just have filled a couple of hundred litres D.I only from the tap.

Sounds like a good excuse for a day off in the sun though, I bet you didn't take much persuading  :)

I keep buying resin by accident, every time I order I forget that my RO chucks out 001/002 , shouldn’t need it really should I !

What's all the obsession with going to the gym?
You do know there's natural ways to keep fit without having to go to room full of posers lifting weights don't you daz.

Rich, why do you buy resin if the RO kicks it out so low?   Mine comes out well below 010 and so I've not bothered with resin for quite some time now.
Though I've learnt not to become too distracted with other jobs, so as not to check my water levels

I’m sure Hman could mod that by using a tucker pole 😁

I have become OCD about my water being 000 over the years , even with the RO giving out 002 I still have my  10 inch DI on the static and another 10 inch DI on the van !

Same here, my 4040 takes the tap water to around 5ppm and I finish it off with resin, I know its not going to make a difference to the clean but in the scheme of things its not a large pot of money down the drain, we all have our snake oils.

Perhaps I shouldn’t worry  , just checked my resin  stock , this was a 5 litre bag in Oct 18 , the jug is 1 L.
