Gardiner back pack
« on: January 30, 2019, 07:54:51 pm »
My back pack has stopped working on the setting that you control the flow and will only work on full flow, I accidentally pulled it over so I’m guessing I have damaged a connection maybe how easy are they to take apart? Has anyone else had this problem?

You've probably knocked a wire off. Pretty easy to take apart .... theres a few screws that hold the base on and a rubber gasket. Gardiners even sell the spare part if the controller is knackered.

Hi Stephen

It does sound like a broken wire connection - It is fairly simple to take apart and have a look  :)

Undo the 6 base screws, then undo the 4 screws holding the battery tray in. This will allow you slide out the battery and check for any loose or broken wire connections.

Hi Jason

I have had a look at your two backpack purchases - 2014 and July 2015 and they did seem to both develop similar faults to each other, but this was not the same fault as Stephen seems to be having.

The backpack purchased in 2014 developed a pump fault and we sent you out a replacement pump for this in July 2015

The backpack purchased in July 2015 developed a sticking pressure switch 11 months later and in June 2016 we replaced the pump for you.

These pumps are usually pretty robust and it is very rare to have a sticking pressure switch -  I apologize that you were unfortunate to have a pump fault, twice a year apart  :(

Hi Alex, you are correct  about the first backpack however it did develop the mentioned fault. The second  backpack also developed the same fault. It wasn't ment as a criticism of the product as both backpacks had plenty of hammer, just to highlight it was a known fault, cheers Jason
