is it just scotland our has the country and tax payers just stopped giving the schools the budget for window cleaning  hey my kids dont go to private school but at least when i was a kid in school i could day dream looking out off the window about bo derek etc
and at least the window were clean  i just want the same for my kids to be able to gaze out the window and dream about whatever instead off incy wincy spider  he he  till they are old enough to hold a scrim any way  lol  no but where have the funds went  .....anyone out there have the answers

Funny you should say that , i was doing a house yesterday and was asked by a passer by to drop into a school and give a quote , i did and i got it , jobs a goodun !

On one of our school contracts they have just spent 10,000,000 on new sports hall facilities and a physics block.

But guess what, the budget to clean the whole school windows is £600 per year!

So we do it once a year, during the summer school holiday's so that when they return in 4 weeks time the windows are already deteriating and in a couple of months later will be no different to how they were before the holiday.

Crazy stuff!

  I do a secondary school where I live, they have had a new building put up andasked me to quote for that this time also. I got a phone call yesterday saying they want it done in the summer holidays, BUT only have the same amount as last year to spend, which is about 400pounds short!

   I have agreed to do all the outsides and then work on the insides in areas that are seen by staff and public until the remainder of thier money runs out!!

guy you find that budgets are not available for schools or hospitals for window cleaning

the funding is taking from left over funds from other budgets

this is why you start getting phone calls about feb when fund managers are trying to use up the left over budget funds that they have held tight all year
and need to get rid of them or else their allowance for the following year is reduced. Not  a financial way to do things, but who are we thick window cleaners to advice on financial matters.Some districts had 2 year planning, but the way they are the now nobody knows what is around the corner.

Maybe that's why ended up as window cleaners - because the school windows were so clean we would look out of them daydreaming instead of listening to the teacher

i just think its crazy in todays inviroment
esp you would think they would clean canteen areas  they must be disgusting
