Rubbish.

Take no notice. Probably the guys you are talking to are the £3 bucket Bobs who are hell bent on discouraging wfp and are feeling threatened by wfp guys and your arrival.

It's a saturated market up there.  Just forget about working with others and set up your business the way you want.  Sounds like you are going to be picking up some bad habits anyway.  You have plenty of experience yourself by the sounds of it.  Just spend some time looking thorough old posts on this forum for inspiration.

There will always be plenty of work available if your quality is good.

Unfortunately the biggest problem with WFP is bad wfp'ers, ( we have a few on here) the guys who spend more time faffing about with nonsense than just learning how to do the job right, there are a number of areas in my neck of the woods that have also been ruined by these types.
You have a couple of options, try other areas where the WFP reputation hasn't been ruined., or try selling your cleaning guarantee better in the hope of winning back the ones who have had a bad experience with wfp'ers in the past, the third option is to take on custom using traditional  methods and then convert them to wfp once they get to know and trust you, but this means still having to use a ladder for now.
It can be hard going when there are still plenty of trad guys to compete with but its still achievable.

I’m about 30 minutes from Glasgow and business is booming. All wfp, I’ve nearly forgotten how to trad these days.

Just sell The benefits of wfp and lead from
The front. Like building any round, it’s not overnight, but give a good quality service and you will Get there.

Everyone round me is switching over to wfp, so just ignore those negative comments.

Glasgow is huge, target the more affluent areas.

Do you have a sign written van?
Uniform?

All These things help to look more professional and separate you generally from The trad guys.
