As much as I would like to have 100% go cardless I'm sure it won't happen anytime soon, a lot won't use it so will take many years to get them all on it.
I'm not too bothered, the main thing is do they pay, if they do I don't care whether it's within a few days or a few weeks as long as it comes in at some point it's all good. The fast payers make up for slower ones and as long as cash is flowing it really doesn't matter.
A few minutes twice a week to send out reminders is hardly a lot more work.
Of course there's always the ones who need 5 or 6 reminders and who take the pee, these should be offered go cardless or be dumped
Do you find now your limited its more important to get payments in? Having an employee too.
Is he out alone yet?
Being Ltd doesnt make a difference mate, actually i find it easier managing finances being ltd as i just pay myself a wage, monthly expenses and let the business account build up, this means im always in front. I much prefer it this way keeping things seperate.
As for an employee, i havent actually got one at the minute, i had someone a couple of months ago but it didnt work out, since then ive trialled a couple of lads and had a couple work as temporary subbys but no one permanent.
But having tried a few lads now and having tried both having a guy out on his own and working as a 2 man i have changed my thoughts entirely on my business going forward.
I dont actually want a guy out on his own anymore, two vans is twice the hassle ...i have mastered the art of working as a 2 man now i think, before i was struggling to do much more than what i do solo but now with one guy in particular who i get on well with we can crack out 350-400 a day by 3pm.
On top of that it makes the working day easier and gives me more motivation.
So now im still looking for an employee but it will be 3-4 days a week as a 2 man and thats me done, i dont want anymore growth or stress than that. At least not for now.
