Wooden frames on suites
« on: October 06, 2018, 05:54:44 pm »
Anyone had this problem? These arms had a thick hard layer grease, I told the client if we cleaned it off it would also take off some varnish but the grease felt sticky & horrible so the client wanted it cleaning off.

Luckily We had a good chat about the consequences  of removing the grease before starting otherwise he could have accused us of wilfully damaging his suite

The left arm looks ok but that dark brown is a layer grease, you can see where I pressed my fingernail into it

Another of the arms which show the mottled effect of the grease.

it would be a rare thing , im thinking old man living on his own or something .  There was a time when my town was flooded with that style suit by a used furniture importer selling ' dutch suites'  the landlords/housing agents bought them as the students couldnt even break them . Thankfully all gone now as they updated the houses . Easy enough for cleaning though .
