On the subject of adding customer details; i wouldnt bother.  Personally its just more of a risk to data being hijacked.

I just leave a bill; if they are in i encourage payment by card. In 2019 i will no longer be accepting payment by cash; except the very few very elderly customers i have left.

Card is best for cashflow especially PayPal here as the funds are in your company bank account immediately.

BACS is second best because it doesnt cost anything; but only suitable for those customers who are good at paying. If i dont get thier payment within the week; i say that if they are looking for credit then i suggest a direct debit.

Direct debits are taken on the 26th day of the month for me; it saves book keepig time as its just one lump sum that comes through at the end of the month.

why will you not accept cash as payment from next year? ::)roll

ill take anything.....cash/cheque/BACS/standing order/contactless/card payments......

Its just a PITA thats why.

You do a £28 job and they give you £30; you got to carry a cash float about, or sometimes if you haven't the change keep £2 on account for the next time.

The cash you do get, well that needs to be paid into the bank which is becoming more difficult. Barclays ( in my case) have closed all the local branches bar woking town centre, where you have to park up and walk to the bank all before 4:30pm...its a joke. Even then there is a queue out the door as there is only one cashier; to then be told you can use the wall machines to pay cash in but you explain to them for the millionth time your not just paying in notes; your paying in coin aswell which the machines dont handle.. whilst they stare at you with this false helpful face...

You can pay in via post office; but everyone knows what its like queuing at one of those places whilst mrs Higgins pays for a sheet of stamps in 2p coins.

There are some reasons for u.  ;D

i  never have to pay any money into my bank as i get enough in BACS/cheque/standing orders and now card payments to easily cover my bills and lease payments on both my van and car....

i always have at least £100 in notes and coins as a float every time i go out to work...

getting a few cash payments means i dont need to use a card every time i want a coffee, fill up the van/car,take the missus out for a meal etc.... ;D
