I'll have a look tonight, got a new starter today and just done my contract, grievance procedure etc

I have equality and diversity included.

The contract was done for me by HR people at business wales, its fully inclusive. I also have everything else I need. I have just found it all in an email from them.

Make sure you include in their training pack that frames have to be cleaned as well as glass.

First day of training will be focused on the frames, specifically the top frame.

First day of training will be focused on the frames, specifically the top frame.

Be prepared for a long costly process at first.

I had my new chap out for first day yesterday . We did less work than I do on my own minus his wages to pay...

Tell them to do something a certain way 10 times and still doing it wrong.

Need a lot of patience first few weeks and realise you are going to be losing money.

I inspected some windows and they were shocking, not enough rinsing, sills lefts full of bits. Windows still with bug marks on them etc.

Oh over rinsing, you will love watching them cascade water down the glass like it's Niagara fall whilst you see your tank contents running out. My chap managed to nail 750l of water on £200 quid of work yesterday 😂 . Tell them to rinse less and they don't do it enough. Over rinsing on philic and under rinsing on phobic.


There will be a point when you think ffs just give me the brush i'll do it myself lol. But them patience isn't my strong point

I'm going to split 1 days work over 2 days, and go slow. He's going to do a lot of watching at first, then we'll be working side by side.  I want him to nail that top frame first, then its all down hill from there so to speak.

I trained the wife up and she's bob on, I cant remember it being too hard??? Famous last words hey.

I am not expecting an easy ride, I am expecting a lot of mistakes and even a few breakages etc. He's only doing 2 days per week so I cant see him going alone for at least 12-16 weeks!

Oh I want my guy out on his own much sooner. But then I really don't like working with someone else, it's ok if you get on well, I had another lad work for me and we got in well no problem. If there's not much to talk about other than work it's a bit awkward though

Straight in at the Deep end to see what he can do. I don't want to wait 6 months to find out he can't get through the work required.

Last guy I had was ot on his own after a month and did perfectly well.
