Missing me winda's!
« on: July 29, 2018, 07:21:49 pm »
Haven't cleaned a window in 8 day's!

I really miss my job now, and my body's missing physical activity. I would normally of done 30-40 hours of graft, 2 weight training sessions and a kickboxing session in the last week. Thats a lot of calorie expenditure unexpended.

I'm having to watch what I eat, whilst being at home all day! I would much rather be working instead. This blinking neck is hacking me off too.

All you guys getting ready for work tomorrow dont know how lucky you are. I'm a thousand pound down already, and counting.

I know where you're coming from mate!

I'm having to take a long time off due to shoulder surgery. I have all the work being done, which was my ultimate plan anyway but I am missing physical work. I think I will build up a decent round just for me when I'm back for two days a week just for the physical benefits.

Add to the mix I haven't driven for eight weeks and still got another four not driving I'm getting a bit restless (and fat!).

How long are you off for?

Feel for you buddy.
Some years ago I had quite an operation done which required two wks in hospital and three months of work. I was bored senseless in hospital esp with my rubbish sleep pattern. Took myself off to TV lounge n set my laptop to TV n watched dvds.  Though I have to hand it to the nurses, they did a fantastic job though clearly ran of their feet.

But yes, required three months of work but I went back after two, but very slowly.

Take it easy and your soon be back at it, just take it steady

Longest ive had off in 25 years was nearly a month when I torn some ligaments in my ankle playing football....just accept it....let yourself heal...and ease yourself back into it when your ready....

Don't dwell on money lost...it's a futile exercise....as long as you have money to pay bills....chill out and enjoy your time off....

I understand your pain,

I had over a month off in the summer of 2016 with a torn Ligament in my wrist. (Cycling crash) also lots of lost skin on my arm, hands and legs.

The pain was awful, but not as awful as the time off. I went for a walk everyday, and tried to keep busy, but without the use of my wrist it took ages just to tie my shoelaces!

Financially I was ok. The concern for me was getting later and later on my round, particularly my commercial work.

Try to keep busy, and try not to think about lost earnings, theres nothing you can do about it, so don’t let it bring you down! If someone can cover important jobs for you, that will help.

Hope you get better soon!

I'm was hoping to be back at work today, must of been wishful thinking!

The way I feel today I dont know how long I'll be off for, seems worse now. I am telling all my customers I'll be back next week, I hope that's true. Been back to the doctors today and got more co-codamol, I asked for some sleeping tablets but doc said NO. Even though I'm doing nothing physical I feel knackered? Maybe the painkillers?

Seems to be nothing happening with the insurers. My insurance have said unless I want to claim through them (which I dont) they wont act. I keep ringing his insurance but they wont disclose any information to me. I reckon he/his insurance are trying it on, I have 2 witnesses that saw everything but still they claim he was stationary when I hit him!! Feel like going round to knock on his door and "av a word" but it wouldn't achieve anything.

My insurance said today that I can claim through them but they cant guarantee to get an admission of fault from the other guy. Pecking my head that is, its almost like they are saying that "well if he says its not his fault-what can we do". I'm worried he's going to get away with it even though there was 2 witnesses to it, the insurers dont fill me with confidence. Mine are no help at all! I even contacted one of these online claims specialists but they cant do anythying until liabilty has been confirmed. I am considering just getting my insurance to cover it all, I hope then they may be more helpful with fighting my corner, as its then in their interest!  Only problem there is my no claims and excess!

As if its not stressful enough.....

I reckon it's the co-codamol that's making you tired, especially if they're big tablets.
In the past when I've been on them I just want to lay down and have a kip.
When I came off of them I had painful headaches for a short time after, apparently it's a side effect.
You will probably be better off on Ibuprofen, as they won't make you drowsy and might have a better chance of feeling fit to work.

Paul I had a similar experience a few years back, get your insurance to fix your van and then get to a solicitor as they
will be able to tell you how to go about suing for your injury and loss of income which you're also entitled to.
If you have two witnesses you will win in court.

Yeh probably co codamol making you feel knackered. It makes me feel sick does that stuff.

Probably beat you stay away from the sleeping tablets as well mate they can be addictive and make things worse I've been on them before...best to to heal naturally your body will sort itself out.

Definitely got me thinking about some kind of sickness cover, you just don't imagine these things happening to you.

co codamol makes me feel spaced out and tired.even worse if im at home not working.......

adam what would happen if you had to have 3 months off?would you be able to pay your bills?if not you should be putting a savings plan together to cover you for 3 months(at least, preferably 6 months)ready to spring into action if needed.

any sound money adviser will tell you this...even if it takes 5 years to get the money together......

i wouldnt rely on "sickness cover" most of them will try and wriggle out of paying you anything when its comes to the crunch and the money you do get is usually not enough anyway to cover even basic bills.....

Yes mate, I reckon I'd be alright for 6 months but I'd rather not have to be in that position.

you probably wont adam.no point worrying about something that might never happen....

to cover basic bills(rent, gas, electric, water,tv licence, council tax,van lease, car lease, diesel, food, phone, internet, etc)i need around £375 a week(this doesnt include van or car insurance as i pay these off in one lump sum every year).so roughly £1500 every 4 weeks.so 12 weeks off would mean i need at least £4,500 to cover me.ive got over double that so id be ok for up to 6 months......

i also have a credit card with a limit of £5,600 if i was desperate.......

car lease and van lease is £500 a month and i spend at least £300 a month on food just for me plus £300 on rent so theres £1100 gone....ive also not included gym membership(£300 a year) or supplements like whey protein/creatine etc(roughly £200 a year)in them figures
