Today I guesstimated I would use 400 litres and added another 100 for the hot weather - extra rinsing - cobwebs - snail trails -  dead insects - dust insect poo clearing.

So I added about 20% over what I would use normally for the same work and almost ran out.

What do you find as to water usage on days like these?

Im using more now as have had to take out the 250 and put in the 350 , all i do now is look whats on the sheet and set the flow as high as i dare and crack on with the first job , once done i can then see if im going to get the rest done by means of mathematical genius .
I used to be very wary of water use but now i think slow flow means slow work , just bang it up bang em out and get home when the tank is empty or the list is done .

I cant get over how the pressure builds up if the hose has been left out for more than a few minutes in the sun , my brush keeps turning into a FSC

I have had problems with spotting on certain windows, the ones that “sheet”; don’t cause problems, the ones that turn to rivers, do. This is despite giving an extra rinse to the ones in direct sun. Have had to go over a few today that had dried  spotty at the top. I had a complaint a couple of weeks ago, when I went to collect, customer said the windows were dirty after air had been. I’m offered to do them right then, but she declined as had friends round. After a bit of questioning, I put it down to the glass drying took quick. Is there any way to avoid this, or just a hazard of the time of year?

That’s a difficult  one we do use a bit more but not significantly more we work at the same speed just slightly slower on rinsing

With the hot weather I have been working on full flow.
I’ve got a 350 tank, and it is usually around 300 litres filled up.
Houses are 3/4 bed of varying sizes, priced £15 to £18.
Usually the tank will do 10 /11 houses.
Not enough when you read Daz’s posts!
Need to try for 200 per day.
On regular cleans ( maintenance) I should probably just clean the top edge and the glass?

Rinse less where you can get away with it. Saves time and water.

This is where very hot water helps.my water has been at 60c+(you can't hold your hand under the jets for long).it helps melt all the bug spots and general dirt easier than cold.....

I don't notice that I use any more water on a hot day compared to any other TBH.....I have a 500l tank too....

Hey Daz perhaps you could use the hot system to bring you're Y ' fronts back to life , hows the tummy now sweetheart ?

Though there is very definitely a difference in the way the water reacts with the glass in the hot weather, I don’t find I use significantly more water. Maybe this is because I work with 80 - 90% of full flow most of the time anyway with a 5lpm pump, so I’ve always got a really good flow of water on the glass.

Definitely get more spotting. It doesnt really make much sense as my water is 000 same as always so fook nose but I've noticed some spotting on jobs this last couple of weeks that I've never noticed before.

No complaints as yet though
