« on: June 25, 2006, 05:42:35 pm »
I went to change my D/I resin today and the lip on the inside of my D/I housing broke off so water leaking everywhere.

After my R/O my water is comming out at 007 would i get away with this for a couple of days whilst i wait for a new a housing to come through.

The housing i got is a 10" plastic housing.
I have tried to silicon it but it does not hold.

Paul, if you have a screwfix catalouge, look in there for repair putty, cost about £2.29, it is a two part putty, that you squeeze together until a uniform colour, you can then recreate your thread on your D/I housing, leave it to go off for half an hour, and it will be stronger than your plastic housing, and is water proof.

Paul.  I have used it at 006 for a while without any complaints.  It might be better to rinse more thoroughly than normal to be safe.  I'm told that it's better to do first cleans with a lower TDS so, if I was told correctly, it may be better to hold off the first cleans until you get sorted.
