Van for 2 men 800 litres
« on: April 01, 2018, 01:46:34 pm »
Hi all. Currently use the vivaro swb 2.9 tonne van. Does anyone know any other vans you can use for a two man set up like this? Most vans are illegally loaded with 800 litres, two of us plus ladders hose reels etc. Cheers

if your looking for a smaller  high carrying van then it either a brand new dispatch type or custom or   try hunting down a swb transit 350 , the best ones are the fwd 2.2 vans but there very rare ,

then its the 350 mwb transit FWD , then the 330 fwd swb these are favered buy the A.A. and B.T.  so theres a good few of these around that are low milage and looked after depending on how much £ you have

The 2 litre Dispatch’s are 1,400 kg payload so would be fine.

Yes had a 750 unit with a deisel water heater heater unit from  stream and two lads working full time,

It was the 1.9 I think 5 speed so I think it was a 105 or similar

Was good van,  good  point was after 5 years sold it for a really good price to someone who wanted to convert it too a camper van

That full in a van that size is to big imo that weight in a van like that will kill the van,the tyres will wear like there made out of spaghetti the suspension and brakes will be under huge strain. If you want a van that’s going to carry 800ltrs comfortably I would go for a payload way over what you intend on carrying if you don’t want it to prematurely ruin your van,the number 1 sign you are carrying to much weight is the tracking a heavy van will kill the rubbers that are between the wheel and suspension,I’ve had mine replaced under constant load they wear and as soon as they start to wear the tracking pops out and the tyres wear on the inside in no time. I would ignore the payload on a van to a certain degree if you are anywhere near the top end of it in tank weight I’d go for a bigger van those dispatch type vans are on there arse even with 600ltrs in em when full.
