Noticed today my Gardiners SLX 25 the top section seemed a bit dodgy.  I fully extended it until it came out of the pole and the bottom 1-2 inches has a crack in it.  Too be fair ive had this pole for over 2 years and it gets bashed around alot.  the red tape to signal where to extend to has been completely worn off for a few months now, so probably been over extending the pole and its cracked. 

So is there any fix for this, or do i just need to get a replacement section ordered?

First time happening for me so wondered what to do.  Second section is also looking a bit dodgy so may get that replaced aswell.  It's the top 2 sections that obviously get used the most in standard domestic window cleaning.

If it was me I would probably just buy a new pole and keep the old one as a spare for parts or emergencies.

Just cut off the damaged bit and re-tape.

What KS said ... it's a 25 after all. If it was an 18 it's length would be more crucial.

if the rest of the pole is in good nick then i might well buy a new section or two.i have a few poles i dont use anymore and the bottom 3 sections are ok.its always the top 2 sections that get trashed...

Agree that cutting the broken sections up to make a smaller pole is a good idea as it cost nowt to do.

But buying two sections is half the price of a new pole and maybe false economy.   Yes you have to pay another £125 ish for a new pole instead of two new sections but at least you get a new brush, gooseneck, hose and new clamps for the money.

Plus a free cap.     and a spanking brand new pole.
