New website to book a window cleaner seeks £50,000 investment on Crowdcube A new startup, which is transforming the way people book a window cleaner in the UK, has launched it’s first
crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube.
Osha Clean was founded in 2016 by husband and wife team Louise and Mark Stevenson. The online service brings together people who need their windows cleaning with reliable local window cleaners who are looking for more business. Everything takes place online, including payment, which means no more waiting in for a window cleaner to pick up the cash, so householders now have a really convenient way to arrange either a regular or one-off clean.
The campaign, which launched on Crowdcube recently and is already 43% funded, is aiming to raise a minimum of £50,000 in four weeks. With the investment funding, the team at Osha Clean are planning to redevelop and rebrand their website, making it simpler to use for customers and provide better back-end automation for window cleaners to allow the business to be scaled up quickly to launch nationwide this year.
“There’s a huge opportunity in this market to transform the way you book and pay for a window cleaner”, said Mark Stevenson, Co-Founder and CEO. “This is one of the few markets that hasn’t really been disrupted yet by new technology. We’re very excited to be launching our first crowdfunding campaign and to have already seen so much interest at this early stage in what we’re doing.”
Already with support from a Virgin Startup Loan and mentoring, the team at Osha Clean have proved their concept works with a test phase last year recruiting 90 window cleaning companies and securing over 160 bookings. The team plan to extend the business model to other external maintenance services in the near future such as gutter and wheelie bin cleaning.
