Hello all, im used to using the shurflo 5.2L's but im looking for a faster rinse, especially on hydrophobic glass using pencil jets rinsing  off the glass, on domestics.  Is there much noticeable difference between the 5.2l & 6.8l in practice? cheers m

Nothing really noticeable, don't worry about hydrophobic glass just brush then rinse with the brush on the glass and it
wont cause you any problems.

Out of interest , what volume of the pure stuff  do you get from brush head with what you use at the moment ?

Just because you have a 6.8lpm pump doesn't mean you will get 6.8lpm out of the jets.

The flow rating of a pump is taken at full speed with no restriction (length of hose, nozzles, etc.)

Your flow will be dependant on the diamt and length of your hose, how much is coiled around the hose reel and the size of the jets in your brush.  Adding a bigger pump might not do much for you, especially if you are using microbore hose.
It will get worse as we head into winter as the water in our tanks gets colder.

Specs for a 3.8lpm Shurflo pump 8000 - 441 - 138

Pressure                                          Flow

0 psi                                                       4.0 LPM
10                                                            3.7
20                                                            3.5
30                                                            3.4
40                                                            3.2
50                                                            3.0
60                                                            2.8
70                                                            2.6
80                                                            2.5
90                                                            2.3

I use the 6.8 lpm and it's not a massive difference, from 5.2 lpm

My pumps connected direct to van battery, Wen am on a job were I can leave engine running, you can see the difference then, the pump really ramps up the revs and the flow is much better.

I had the theory that a 10 lpm pump from vyair was the way forward but in reality the hose we use just isn't wide enough to carry the water, pump cuts out, kicks in, cuts out repeatedly and no pressure at brush head

Pencil jet's are better on domestics for me,  i use  60m 0f 8mm minibore hose to 18ft pole 5mm hose, do you have any stats on the 5.2l compared with a 6.8l spruce? many thanks all

I use a separate 115 yuasa leisure batt  with a split charge relay, but i rotate them after a days usage with another same batt on a ctek charger. I tested my pump/s when engine off and then on, and flow was the same -  that tells me that there is not a  battery voltage prob? Anyhow looking at spruce's above figures, a 6.8L should give me a better flow  at the brush head.

Hi Mac

Sorry I don't.

But if you contact Williamson Pumps they will be able to email a pdf of both pumps data sheet.
