Problems with Varistream
« on: June 23, 2006, 07:54:54 pm »
Hi during the past few weeks my Varistream that is connected to my 100psi pump has stopped working mid round. After fiddling with thing for about 1 hour it usually starts to work again, but today it still did not work and I had to pack up and go home. It seems to not sense the flow and kick the pump in, you can still hear it keep ticking over though.

Has anyone else experienced this and how did they sort it out?

I was thinking that it could be trapped air but don’t know how it is getting there.

Thanks Phil >:(

Hi philhart
 Yeah ive had this problem.
When I first bought the varistream it COULD boost. Over the weeks it would get weaker and weaker. So I had to keep turning the dial down to keep a constant flow of water. It got to the stage where it was dripping out!
So I rang my supplier up and was told this :

Keep the varistream turned on.
Take the front panel off.
There you will see a small dial, labled A B C D ect.
Turn the dial one letter at a time untill you get your constant flow back.

BUT I must admit my varistream still wont boost!

Regards

Barry

This is exactly why i dont want a varistream , just another thing to let you down , a simple return to tank valve is all you need !

I have a varistream m2 and im not that struck on them.
I find what works best for me is an inline valve.

Keep things simple its so much easier

Philhart, if you can hear ticking its more than likely that your Varistream has not been setup correctly and that the pressure switch is switching on and off.  On some pumps the pressure switch is left connected.
