Vikan easy shine type stuff
« on: August 11, 2017, 09:52:33 am »
Anyone use the pure water and microfibre type stuff for internal work?

Have picked up some inside and out work recently and its too much hassle trading off step ladders.

Realy like the idea as it looks time efficient, but does it work?

They are hard work no quicker and it can be very hard to get a decent finish using them, they do have their place but a mop and
squeegee would always be  my first preference for interior work.

For the most part, they are good enough.  It doesn't work well in all situations though.  It's a useful weapon to have in the armoury as it can save a lot of time on some jobs and make them easier.  Other times, it can be a mess.  First cleans may be far more time consuming as you might need to go over them a few times with very frequent pad changes.  Thereafter, most jobs will be easier if cleaned frequently enough.  There are plenty of exceptions though as some types of plasticated partition glass stays smeary.
Test it and find out which jobs it works on.  Even if it's only half of them it may still be worth it.

They are great for wiping soffits with vents after cleaning  better than wrapping a towel around the brush. That's the only thing I have used mine.

They're crap. I use one to clean tgebisides of a car showroom and I cringe every time I finish the job. Nowhere near up to my high expectation of what clean is.

They accept it though as they don't want lots of water run offs or ladders used on the inside of the building.

Anyone want a car showroom clean in swindon 😂

As with Matt/Tosh/Slack bladder you can't beat the fish scale cloths - all our hospital an school cleans are done with these

we use the Vikan easy shine system too, but paragon do heads at 1/4 the price vivian charge - unfortunately they don't do 6" pads - the smallest is 12" so we use 9" heads and these work really well
( i have acquired around a 100 vikan and under pads over the years )
