Gardiner green does lay flat (with vid)
« on: June 28, 2017, 07:08:49 pm »
Following another thread by Barry Scott the other day i thought i would show my findings on the green stuff , and im glad to say that it does lay flat (well done Alex) .
My initial thought when i opened the box was this aint going to go well , i was wrong , i could feel it was going to work well with the Univalve , its bang in the middle of all season and Gardiner red/orange in terms of stiffness.
But it still had a bit of spring about it , more so in the centre of the 100m coil , i did not pre soak in hot water , i just tied one end to a lamp post and walked it out down the road , once all out i then walked a few more lengths with a wet rag on it to get all of the turns out , like you do reeling micro in .
This i reckon is the key to getting any hose to do what you want it to do.
I then connected it all up and ran the water through it (cold) , i then had a few more walks down the length with the wet rag with it under pressure , it laid down flat as a dab which was nice  ;D
Took a vid of it all pressured up so you can see for yourselves , i will try and get it up on the next post !

I've been using the green for about 18 months and love it.  Best PU hose I've ever used.  I've found it easy to hand coil as well in lengths up to about 30 meters, as long as you lay it out straight to start with.  (I work with a trolley)
