So had some spare time over weekend and changedd my mechanical flange around to fit it the right way round. In doing so i took some photos as well as some on a previous thread wanted to know the stages etc. So this might seem boring to most but odd ones might find useful.



So lower the back nut down on some string/wire or something of that nature. Stick your fingers through the new hole in your tank and pull it through.
On this picture ive put some plumbers bait to act as a seal before i fit the mechanical flange.

Whilst grasping back nut thats on the inside of the tank, screw on the mechanical  flange. After a couple of turns etc, the small studs on the part fitted on inside of the tank will start to dig into the tank and a tight fit can then be had. Obviously safe to let go of the inside nut and turn the flange as tight as you can.

Screw in the immersion heater. In my case its a 2kw 27inch into a 500l upright tank.

Connect the wires and set the thermostat. On mine i have it set on 5, the highest.
Job done;

It is buddy cheers, but i have hit a new problem whichbim now solving. But im a little stumpt as to whats happened so gonna start a new thread soon for advice on how to prevent. Not sure if its hot water related or not

I'm finally going to try and do my static tank in the garage with this idea.

It's only thin plastic on an ibc but I can't really see why it won't work with the flange.

I've got an immersion in my vans tank which is great, but I'd like to pre heat my water in the garage if possible, then just transfer the hot water into my van in the morning.

Yep thats the one.

When i have a weekend free im fitting some copper coil inside my chimnea flute and using that to see what temps i get coming out as an experiment. Then feed that into van tank. All it will cost is a couple of logs per night of filling up pending flow n fill time etc.
But looking forward to the experiment
