Spare pole suggestions
« on: February 21, 2017, 09:55:45 am »
Hi guys.

I only have the SLX 25 and thinking of buying a spare pole purely in case other one breaks or just to switch over for a change. Want to reach up to 35 feet also so waiting for Gardiners to get the extension #6 in stock.

Was thinking CLX 27(although also out of stock). Anybody have this as a spare?

another 25 ft SLX as your present one will wear out eventually then you can keep your worn one as a spare! ;D
price higher/work harder!

I agree I would buy a new slx25 and buy 2 new extn/Base sections so you will have a new daily use pole and a slightly worn 35ft for occasional high work.

I always keep a backup on board nowadays. My everyday pole is an Xtreme 22. It reaches all but two windows on my entire round. The extra three feet of an SLX 25 reaches those and I keep it on board as my spare. I prefer the slightly shorter collapsed length of the 22 for everyday use.

Thanks guys. Think I will buy another SLX. I'm guessing it would be cheaper to buy another 25 and two extensions for my old 25 instead of an SLX 27 or 30?

could get the two extensions for current SLX 25(when in stock) and get a SLX 18 or 22 as everyday pole. 98% of my work is just normal first floor. Would I need a 18 or 22?

I used a slx 25 as regular pole for 18 months, then bought slx 22 which I now use as main pole (easier due to shorter collapsed length).

Slx 25 is on van as a spare pole and gets used for a few jobs the 22 won't reach.

id get a 22 footer.nothing worse than having to go back to the van for another pole because one or two windows are out of reach.

i either use my main 25ft xtreme pole or an xtreme 47 for anything higher.

i have a slx 22 and another worn xtreme 25 as back up but they very rarely get used.i also have a base xtreme section that i could fit on my slx 22 making it into another 25ft pole.

there will come a time when you need a spare though(snapping/breaking a section/clamp etc)
price higher/work harder!
